Board of Education called meeting, 8 May
After excellent presentations by the contracted architects and the soil and wetlands survey professionals, the Board of Education voted unanimously to procede with the next step in developing the Jack Bennett Road property for a new high school. Several questions remain such as a wider entrance into the property, a professional survey and siting of the various school components and an agreement by Aqua American that they will eliminate their opportunity to return sewage effluent to the site.
The contracted architect for the new middle school presented their sketch plan to date. The firm offered a time line of a few weeks to complete their schematic design work while the Board awaits the flow of design and building funds as outlined in the Board of Commissioner’s Capital Improvement Plan. In order to meet the completion date of 15 August 2009, much ground work has to be accoplished on the schools’ side allowing the arcitect to meet his ambitious schedule.
A short meeting but a lot accomplished thanks to the methodical approach taken by this Board since December 2006.
